Our mission at PS/MS 140M, in partnership with parents, students and our community, is to provide a safe learning environment committed to fostering academic, personal and social growth for all of our students so that they may reach their maximum potential and be successful in college and career.
The Nathan Straus Preparatory School of Humanities provides all students with opportunities to explore learning through investigative and project-based units of study across content areas to enable them to think critically, engage with peers, and develop social and emotional growth. The needs of a diverse body of learners are met with programs such as integrated co-teaching classrooms, intervention and small group instruction.
Students are also given a chance to succeed creatively. To that end, PS/MS 140 has a comprehensive art, music and dance program, patterning with many community-based and citywide organizations to achieve these goals, such as Educational Alliance, Morgan Stanley, New York Cares, Arts Matter Program and 21st Century Alliance.
